Dr. Mitch Pontefract is a passionate Osteopath dedicated to helping people overcome pain, recover from injury, and achieve their health and performance goals. He completed his five-year double degree - Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) - at RMIT University, following his own positive experiences with osteopathic care that inspired him to pursue a career in the field.

With a genuine interest in health, fitness, and sport, Mitch enjoys basketball, tennis, and strength training. His active lifestyle gives him practical insight into movement, biomechanics, and the physical demands placed on the body, which he integrates into his clinical practice. He particularly enjoys working with sports injuries and headaches, and considers neck, upper back, and lower back pain among his strongest areas of treatment.

Mitch's approach is holistic and results-driven, primarily using direct techniques tailored to each individual. He provides osteopathic care that may incorporate Dry Needling and Cupping where appropriate, alongside thorough patient education to ensure people understand their condition and feel empowered throughout their treatment journey. He also offers concussion assessments as part of his clinical services.

His professional experience includes working alongside a Division 1 football team as a sports trainer, further strengthening his understanding of injury management and return-to-play strategies.

At Rapid Recovery, Mitch works collaboratively within an integrated healthcare team, taking the time to listen to each person's story and develop treatment plans aligned with their goals. He is committed to helping patients not only move out of pain, but build resilience and confidence in their bodies between appointments.
