Dr Emily Laffin

Clinical Lead & Senior Osteopath

Clinics: Ferntree Gully & Seville

Specialities: Jaw injuries, sports & musculoskeletal conditions, dry needling

Emily is a dedicated and results-driven Osteopath who completed her Bachelor of Clinical Science (Osteopathy) and Master of Osteopathy at Victoria University, graduating in 2020. Since entering private practice, she has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised care, alongside extensive involvement in local football. With eight years of experience in high-level community sport - including a significant role with Blackburn Football Club - Emily has developed particular expertise in sports and musculoskeletal injury management. She also holds additional certification in dry needling.

Emily's passion for Osteopathy began with a deep desire to work in healthcare and make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Having witnessed firsthand the positive impact Osteopathy can have on individuals and families, she was drawn to the profession's blend of hands-on treatment, clinical problem-solving, and long-term patient outcomes. She is especially motivated by helping people regain confidence in their bodies - whether that means returning to the gym, work, sport, or simply living without constant pain.

Her clinical interests include low back and disc-related conditions, hip, pelvis and lower limb injuries, return-to-work rehabilitation, load management, and movement retraining. She has a particular passion for managing headaches and migraines, especially where stress and lifestyle factors contribute. Emily has also undertaken further training in the assessment and treatment of jaw dysfunction, including TMJ dysfunction and bruxism.

Emily describes her treatment style as results-driven, honest, and collaborative. She combines hands-on therapy with clear education and practical rehabilitation strategies, ensuring patients understand both the 'why' behind their pain and the 'how' behind their recovery. She enjoys working with active individuals, gym-goers, and those returning to physically demanding jobs, as well as patients who have experienced persistent pain and feel they have not previously been heard.

With personal interests in weight training and yoga, Emily integrates strength, mobility, and movement principles into her rehabilitation programs to provide a well-rounded, holistic approach to care. She is committed to ongoing professional development, regularly attending courses, webinars, and conferences to remain at the forefront of Osteopathic practice. She has a growing interest in the connection between mental health - particularly stress - and the musculoskeletal system, and is passionate about contributing to this evolving area of healthcare.

Above all, Emily is dedicated to building strong therapeutic relationships and delivering individualised, adaptable treatment plans that support long-term recovery, resilience, and injury prevention.

Emily is an accredited osteopath and member of AHPRA
