Myotherapist & Remedial Massage

Specialities: Soft tissue release, myofascial work, dry needling, sports injury, chronic pain, jaw pain - TMJ

Tung is a dedicated Myotherapist with a strong foundation in sport and exercise science, driven by a passion for helping people move better and live pain-free. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science alongside his qualifications in Myotherapy, Tung blends evidence-based knowledge with a highly hands-on, results-driven approach.

Before joining Rapid Recovery, Tung gained valuable clinical experience working in busy practices in Hawthorn and Seaford, treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. He has also provided hands-on support to athletes at the Dandenong Volleyball Club, helping players manage pain, recover from injury, and maintain performance. As a competitive volleyball player himself, Tung understands firsthand the physical demands of sport - an insight that strongly shapes his clinical practice.

Tung has a particular interest in sports injuries and athletic performance, chronic pain and postural dysfunction, and jaw-related pain (TMJ), where he continues to build advanced expertise. He is especially passionate about working with active individuals and the sporting population, helping them return to training and competition with confidence.

His treatment style is holistic and results-driven. Tung takes time to uncover the 'why' behind a client's pain, identifying compensation patterns and underlying movement imbalances rather than simply addressing symptoms. His sessions focus heavily on manual therapy, incorporating techniques such as soft tissue release, myofascial release, cupping, dry needling, and muscle energy techniques to restore movement and reduce pain efficiently.

While he values the role of exercise rehabilitation, Tung ensures that any program fits seamlessly into a client's lifestyle. Whether that means advanced strength drills for regular gym-goers or simple, practical movements that can be integrated into a busy day, his goal is to create realistic and sustainable progress.

What keeps Tung motivated is seeing tangible change - the shift in posture, improved mobility, lower pain scores, and the smile on a client's face as they walk out feeling better than when they arrived. He believes in building confidence, empowering clients with understanding, and supporting them beyond the treatment room through follow-up and ongoing care.

Outside the clinic, you'll find Tung on the volleyball court - playing, coaching, or supporting fellow athletes. His deep appreciation for the human body and performance continues to fuel his commitment to delivering hands-on treatments that achieve real, lasting results.
