Tailored Healing for Abdominal Scars – No Matter Where You Are in Your Journey
Support for C-Sections, Laparoscopy, Hernia Repairs, Endometriosis Surgery & More
Your scar tells a story — but it doesn’t have to hold your body back.
Whether your surgery was months ago or many years in the past, Scar Release Therapy offers gentle, targeted support for the tissues beneath and around your scar, helping your body move, feel, and function more freely.
If you are at least 9 weeks post-op, with a scar that has fully closed (no scabbing or openings), you’re welcome to begin treatment.

Why Scar Release Matters
Scars don’t just sit on the surface.
They can change how the underlying tissues slide, stretch, and contract — quietly affecting movement, comfort, and strength long after the incision heals.
Even if your scar looks fine or doesn’t feel painful, it may still contribute to:
- hip or pelvic tension
- lower back discomfort
- core weakness or disconnect
- digestive or bloating changes
- pulling, tightness, or sensitivity
- emotional discomfort or avoidance
Scar Release Therapy gives your body the focused attention it may have been missing — helping restore mobility, reduce restriction, and reconnect you with an area many people learn to brace, protect, or avoid touching.
You’ll also learn simple home techniques to continue supporting your healing between sessions.
This Treatment May Be Ideal for You If You’re Experiencing:
- tenderness, soreness, or sensitivity around the scar
- a pulling or tugging feeling when you move
- discomfort when clothing rubs the area
- a “shelf,” overhang or uneven texture at the incision
- scar tissue that feels thick, raised or stuck
- numbness, tingling or altered sensation
- discomfort during intimacy
- lower abdominal or pelvic tightness
- hip or lower back discomfort
- core muscles feeling “disconnected” or slow to engage
- tightness that fluctuates with your cycle
- reduced mobility or stiffness in the lower belly
- an emotional disconnect from the scar area
If any of these feel familiar, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to just live with it.
What Scar Release Therapy Involves
Each session is gentle, supportive, and tailored to your comfort level.
You can expect:
Soft, precise hands-on work
To help improve mobility and ease restriction around the scar and surrounding tissues.
Techniques that support tissue glide
Helping the layers beneath the skin move more freely.
Posture and movement awareness
So your scar area doesn’t keep working against you during daily life.
Simple self-care techniques
So you can safely support your own healing at home.
A calm, grounded approach
Because this area of the body often carries both physical and emotional load.
This is not painful, invasive, or aggressive treatment.
Everything is done slowly, safely, and with full communication.
How to Book Scar Release (Important)
The most effective approach is one initial session + two follow-ups, spaced 2–3 weeks apart.
When booking, please select:
- Initial Scar Release Appointment
- Two follow-up sessions (we’ll adjust the timings if needed)
It is much easier for us to shorten or remove appointments if you don’t need them, rather than trying to squeeze you into a full schedule later.
Note: Scar release currently only available at our Healesville clinic.
